GREEN CLASS A.

Well-being for productivity.

VERDE is an outstanding office building in RIGA's Skanste district.

We are Class A with top tier quality standards, but we do steps ahead to be the greenest office building in Riga.

A sustainable and environmentally friendly design safeguards our planet and provides harmonious and productive workspaces. While others invest in futile luxuries, we believe that sustainability and well-being are the new class – Green Class A.

Verde is designed according to scientific office wellness studies. Relaxing terraces, greenery, state-of-the-art air ventilation systems, intelligent lighting, wise layout design, various amenities and other solutions are scientifically proven to boost well-being & productivity.

Our efforts to create an office space that improves well-being, health and productivity resulted in a BREEAM Excellent certificate, which focuses on the entire lifecycle of the building, with special emphasis on the employees’ well-being. VERDE also has nZEB and other qualifications which demonstrate our sustainability and energy efficiency.

Investors, customers and employees are demanding businesses to have a positive impact on the environment and their communities, ultimately leading companies to enhance their financial performances.

Let’s recognize that office buildings have a great ability to catalyse the greening of our planet. Why don’t we take the lead?

Well-being enhanced

with research

Breathe easy

Breathe easy

A high-quality air ventilation system is crucial to ensure a healthier lifestyle for employees. Studies have shown that increased air ventilation counts up to 6-9% in productivity, resulting in a reduced level of pollutants and better health for everyone. Thus, Verde has introduced a high-quality heating ventilation and air conditioning for us to breathe easy.

Airflow can impact your performance. The Wyon (2004) study has shown that boosting indoor air quality resulted in a 6-9% performance growth, while it has been proven that poor air quality (and elevated temperatures) consistently lowered work performance up to 10% (Health, Wellbeing and Productivity in Offices: The Next Chapter for Green Building, 2014).

For this reason, Verde employs the highest standard Heating Ventilation and Air Conditioning (HVAC) system run by an indoor climate management via BMS (Building Management System). Additionally, features like air humidification systems, cold beams and green areas outfitted with plants are enhancing the air quality even more.

Surround yourself with greenery

Surround yourself with greenery

Researches suggest that most employees in Green buildings are content with their job, contrasting with unhappiness levels of employees in non-green buildings. By trusting the data of green-certified buildings increasing employees’ creativity and well-being up to 15%, Verde makes greenery a top priority.

If you want to boost your health, a workplace in a green-certified building is the answer.

It has been proven that ‘green’ offices made employees up to 15% more productive (University of Exeter, 2014). Harvard studies claimed that when people surrounded themselves with greenery, 30% of them experienced fewer sickness related absences and 6% showed improved sleep quality (Gaskell, 2017).

Verde shows the commitment to create an environment where employees have more contact with nature: green zones both outside and inside its building, giving tenants and their employees the possibility to enjoy their work breaks on the green rooftop and surrounding terraces. Tenants are also welcomed with indoor plants and green panelled walls.

Stay focused

Stay focused

Natural light translates into being more focused and alert, bringing significant health and wellness benefits for office workers. Researches have shown that employees reported a 40% performance increase with ideal daylight quality –Verde maximises this by using large areas and therefore optimising daylight.

Learn more

Enhanced individual performance is tied to accessing natural light. The lack of daylight and access to outdoor views decreases the ability for the eye to relax and recover from fatigue. A study from Cornel (Hedge, 2018) found that controlled daylight unlocks significant health and wellness advantages for office workers, with an 84% drop in symptoms such as eyestrain, headaches and blurred vision.

At Verde, spaces are designed to provide as much as daylight as possible. That is why tenants will find large spaces fitted with wide façade windows for maximum exposure to daylight. The ground and mezzanine floors of Verde’s building have lofty atriums connected by open staircases.

Work flexibly

Work flexibly

Researches have indicated that a temporary change in the work environment reduces stress and improves teamwork and productivity. During our workday we need a balanced environment that blends quiet areas, meeting rooms, open spaces to socialise, and outdoor green zones to boost relaxation and tranquillity. This is why Verde’s overall design envisioned different spaces for various needs.

Adaptable offices along with scheduled work breaks leads to stress reduction (Health, Wellbeing and Productivity in Offices: The Next Chapter for Green Building, 2014). Therefore, Verde has airy atriums with friendly reception areas, common terraces, kitchens and lounge areas, as well as co-working spaces.

Well-designed areas and flexible working conditions help employees feel more in control of their workload (Health, Wellbeing and Productivity in Offices: The Next Chapter for Green Building, 2014).

Verde is ready to match all your ideal workspace design requirements by having modular panels, flexible spaces with raised floors, large communal areas, to floating floors and chill beams to name a few options available.

Eat well

Eat well

Studies have shown that 27% of employees want access to healthy eating and drinks. As healthy food is a part of our overall well-being, mood and productivity, Verde offers access to wholesome food choices.

Learn more

The Food Insight’s 2019 Food and Health Survey revealed that 57% of the workforce considered convenience to be one of the most important factors when deciding what food to order.

According to the Allegra Health and Wellness Summit, 27% of employees claimed access to healthy food and drink was the number-one way their workplace could support them.

Therefore, employees should have an opportunity to choose their nutrition from a variety of choices.

At Verde’s, the selection of food services provided is exceptional: a food court with a selection of international menus. One of the restaurants offers outdoor seating and al fresco eating. Nearby Verde, there are several more eateries, whilst Skanste is constantly developing into an exciting and upbeat neighbourhood.

Pioneer the future

Pioneer the future

A cleaner environment is closely linked to employees’ productivity. Researchers claim that an increased intake of CO2 could lead to poor decision making, slower reaction times and increased tiredness among employees. While working at Verde’s zero-energy building, tenants will be reassured to know they are leading the way to an environmentally friendly and healthful future.

Learn more

A clean environment is important not only for our planet, but for our workplaces too.

The EMCOR UK (2018) study showed that the more carbon dioxide is present in the air, the lower the productivity is. Employees performed 60% faster at lower levels of carbon dioxide and their test scores improved by up to 12%.

This is not the only reason why zero-energy buildings should be backed. The European Climate Foundation (2020) states that the building sector is one of the largest contributors to greenhouse gas emissions in the EU. The worrying aspect is that the emissions levels from this sector are set to double by 2050, rather than drop.

That is why Verde has a Class A energy efficiency, qualifies for a BREEAM Excellent certificate and is also nZEB – a nearly zero-energy building.
