Office complex VERDE marks the raising of its ridgepole

The greenest office complex in Riga, VERDE, which is currently being raised in the modern Skanste district, has reached another significant construction milestone, following the previously defined time schedule. The first of the two office buildings, which is planned to be commissioned in the summer of 2022, has already had all 11 of its floors constructed. An underground parking lot and the load-bearing structure of the roof have also been completed, as well as facade works for the first 5 floors. In honor of this, the raising of the ridgepole has been symbolically celebrated by placing a traditional wreath on the roof of the building.

The construction process of VERDE is managed by Notus Developers, a subsidiary of SBA Group, on behalf of its developer, the Lithuanian company Capitalica Asset Management. Meanwhile, the main builder of the project is one of the largest construction companies in Latvia - Velve.

“Almost 200 experienced and professional construction specialists work on the construction of VERDE on a daily basis. It is a very large team, and that is exactly what we need to achieve our ambitious goals - to become not only the only Class A office in Riga, which will be available to tenants next year, but also a benchmark for future offices that will show sustainable architectural and productivity-enhancing environments not only in Latvia, but also in the Baltics,” emphasizes Andrius Barštys, VERDE investor and developer, General Director of Capitalica Asset Management.

"We have completed a great and significant construction phase, and I am really proud of the teamwork of our team and partners. I would especially like to thank the client for their trust and sustainable thinking. The Verde office building complex received the BREEAM Excellent level certificate - its construction is carried out in compliance with all BREEAM construction and environmental protection requirements, which makes it the most promising and environmentally friendly office building complex in Riga. It must be said that the construction of this building has been one of the most interesting challenges in the company's history, and the complicated construction, technological solutions and innovative engineering systems continue to prove that we are one of the strongest construction companies in the Baltics,” says Kaspars Rokens, chairman of Velve.

According to the plan, the construction of the first building of the VERDE office complex with a total area of almost 23 000 m2 should be completed in the summer of 2022, when it will be open to the most advanced local and international tenants. Information on the construction of the second building will soon follow separately. The total investment in the development of the VERDE office complex is over 65 million euros.
